Behind the scenes from our Vintage Optics Masterclass with Mark de Paola // @markdepaolastudio at the @camerawestsf grand opening! Participants explored a curated โ€œmenuโ€ of vintage glass, pairing each lens with the Leica EV1 from @leicacamerausa & @leicastoresf. Mark brought the knowledge and experience and Maiden Lane provided the perfect backdrop. More than a class โ€” it was a room full of photographers who care deeply about this craft and the tools the inspire and enable it. Thank you to @sage_backstrom for producing, @chi.kq for modeling, and @cwwatchshop for rounding out the experience with a selection of vintage watches that felt right at home alongside the optics. We look forward to bringing this experience to Palm Springs and SoHo - NYC, and of course back to Maiden Lane soon.

Above the clouds, the sky put on a show. Green ribbons of the Aurora Borealis dancing quietly while the world sleeps below โœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿ’šโœจ Still in disbelief after seeing this phenomenon for the first time on my flight back to JFK from Tokyo. The flight attendant told everyone who was awake to open their window for a look. Aurora Borelis (Northern Lights) happens when the charged particles of the sun react to our atmosphere. Green for oxygen, pink for high altitude oxygen, purple for nitrogen, and blue for high altitude nitrogen. Sorry for the geek out and hope you enjoy the photos ๐ŸŒž
